Tethered Together Ticket Policies
New This Year: We will no longer be accommodating transfers between attendees. The only place that you can purchase a ticket for Tethered Together 2025 is from our ticketing website. Ticket transfers between individuals, ticket reselling, and ticket gifting after the initial point of purchase are no longer allowed under any circumstances. As our event gets more popular and we start selling out earlier and earlier each year, we need to act to prevent secondary market upsells, outsider speculation and profiteering and the potential for private ticket sale scams. We want to provide flexibility and security for you and remove stress and uncertainty from last minute plan changes for all of us.
Preparing to host our event involves months of preparation and planning as well as travel and supply costs and we work to balance flexibility for you with stability and sustainability for our event. For our 2025 season, we will be allowing refunds as specified below up until January 1st, 2025. After that point, 2025 tickets can only be used in the 2025 season or transferred to our 2026 event for the named attendee to use at that time. Tickets cannot be deferred more than one year into the future.
Event tickets to Tethered Together 2025 are non-refundable after January 1st, 2025 and non-transferrable to other individuals at any point under any circumstances.
Event tickets to Tethered Together 2025 become the property of the person listed as the event attendee on each ticket immediately upon payment.
We strongly suggest that, except in the case of long-term committed partnerships, each attendee purchase their own event admission ticket. If you do not share legal name or email address information with someone, you should not be buying a ticket for them directly. In this situation, best practice would be to gift them ticket funds another way to allow them to handle their own purchase and personal information.
We do not honor placeholder or duplicate tickets for our event or ticket transfers between private parties. We require that all tickets be purchased for you or other real people at the time of purchase.
Each attendee is required to register using their full legal name as it matches their legal ID and provide a unique and valid email address for themselves at the time of ticket purchase. If you are purchasing a ticket for someone else and do not have their correct email address and full correctly spelled legal name, DO NOT purchase a ticket for them without confirming. Again, best practice for someone you do not know well and do not share this information with is to simply gift them the ticket funds another way and allow them to handle their own purchase.
When you list yourself as the named attendee for a ticket you purchase,
- Your ticket can be refunded to you up until January 1st, 2025 if you find yourself unable to attend the event for any reason. You will need to request a refund by email to [email protected] by January 1st, 2025.
- After January 1st, 2025, all event tickets will need to be used by you as the named attendee for the 2025 event season OR deferred one year for you to use at our 2026 event. To defer your ticket, please fill out <THIS FORM HERE> ahead of the first day of our event.
When you list anyone other than yourself as the named attendee for a ticket you purchase, you are giving them a gift of that ticket at that point:
- This ticket becomes the property of the person you name. They (not you) are the only person who can initiate a request that their ticket be refunded to your initial card of purchase up until January 1st, 2025. They will need to do this by email to [email protected] by January 1st, 2025.
- After January 1st, 2025, all event tickets will need to be used by the named attendee for the 2025 event season or deferred for one year ONLY for the same named attendee to use at our 2026 event. To defer a ticket for yourself purchased by someone else to you for our 2026 event, please fill out <THIS FORM HERE> ahead of the first day of our event.
2025 Event Ticket refunds BEFORE January 1st, 2025:
- In order to receive a refund before January 1st, 2025, the attendee named on the ticket will need to contact [email protected] directly using their contact email address in order to request a refund to the initial card of purchase. If you purchased a ticket for someone else listed as the attendee, they (not you) need to be the person writing in for the refund request.
2025 Event Ticket options AFTER January 1st, 2025:
- Refunds are not available past January 1st, 2025 under any circumstances.
- If you purchase a ticket to Tethered Together 2025 and find that you cannot attend for any reason after January 1st, 2025, you can defer your ticket to yourself for our 2026 event using <THIS FORM> but cannot transfer it to anyone else for our 2025 or 2026 event.
- If someone else purchased a ticket for you to Tethered Together 2025 and you find that you cannot attend for any reason after January 1st, 2025, you can defer your ticket to yourself for our 2026 event using <THIS FORM> but you cannot transfer your ticket to anyone else for our 2025 or 2026 event.
2024 Event Tickets:
Some 2024 tickets are being transferred to our 2025 event based on registration contact before our event. In order to use one of these tickets, you will need to contact us by email when 2025 ticketing starts to receive a code to register for our 2025 event without further cost. You will then need to register again using this code in order to attend. All codes will need to be used by January 31st, 2025 in order to be transferred to our 2025 event. Codes can only be used by the named 2024 attendee for their own registration.
No refunds will be given for choosing not to comply with the clearly stated Covid-19 policies you opted into during ticket purchase.
In the unlikely event of a cancellation of our 2025 event, all tickets will by default be transferred to our 2026 event.
All ticketing-related inquiries need to be submitted by email to [email protected] and cannot be accepted any other way.
Transfer Eligibility:
Most tickets purchased for our 2024 event are eligible for transfer to our 2025 event for the folks named as the 2024 attendees OR to other folks as long as complete transfer requests are received by January 31st, 2024.
Duplicate tickets are not transferrable due to record-keeping needs and will be refunded instead. No other refunds are available or offered. You must purchase tickets only for yourself or other real people. Placeholder tickets (buying two tickets for yourself or a fictitious person hoping to transfer one to someone else later) are not allowed for our event and are not eligible for transfer. If you purchase a ticket for yourself and then are chosen as a presenter or vendor, your paid ticket will be refunded instead after you use your registration code.
We consider tickets to be the property of the person whose legal name is specified as the attendee for the ticket. This means that if you purchase a ticket for someone else, it belongs to them. We will need the permission of the person listed as the attendee on a ticket process a transfer of any ticket.
To be clear:
- If you purchase a ticket for another person, it belongs to them. Ticket transfer rights for 2024 will be issued to you only with the permission of the person whose name is attached to the ticket.
- If you are holding a ticket for yourself that was purchased by someone else, you cannot cash out the purchase value to yourself if you choose not to come nor can anyone reassign your ticket to a different person without your permission.
All requests must be made by email to [email protected].
Refund Eligibility:
All ticket purchases are non-refundable except in the case of accidental duplication and for presenters, vendors and some volunteers who purchased a ticket before being selected. Presenters and vendors will need to first register with their new registration codes in order to then receive paid ticket refunds.
